Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed New VR games announced for the Oculus

Splinter Cell fans have been waiting for another sequel to the series for seven years now. So far, however, they have been put off with guest appearances by Sam Fisher in other games. Now a full game has finally been announced for the secret agent, as well as a new Assassin’s Creed – but as a VR title for the Oculus.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell fans really don’t have it easy. Rumors have been going around for years that Ubisoft is working on another part of the stealth game series. After all, it’s been seven years since Splinter Cell: Blacklist was released. Since then, protagonist Sam Fisher has only been allowed to appear as a guest in other Tom Clancy’s games. But now a new part has been confirmed – as a virtual reality title. Facebook has signed an official deal with Ubisoft to bring the stealth game exclusively to the Oculus. Details are not yet known, but more information will be available soon. The deal also includes a new Assassin’s Creed – also in VR. What we know so far: Both games are being developed by Ubisoft’s subsidiary Red Storm Entertainment in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Düsseldorf. Red Storm Entertainment comes as no surprise as they have been responsible for most of the Tom Clancy’s games in the past.
