The purpose of the commission, which will consist of 17 members , is expressed as “ preventing the use of the internet in violation of individuals’ personal rights, privacy and other fundamental rights and freedoms or damaging children’s physical and psychological development ”
According to the information shared by Haber.com, the duties of the commission will be:
– To discuss the works that are transferred to him as the principal or subordinate; Large request or the request of the National Assembly of Turkey Presidency issued during a state of emergency laws by examining the proposals submitted to the Presidential decree of the President’s mandate to provide opinions on the direction of the commissions.
– To provide opinions and suggestions on the prevention of the use of the internet in violation of the law, personal rights of individuals, privacy and other fundamental rights and freedoms or harmful to the physical and psychological development of children.
– Providing opinions and suggestions on effectively combating crimes committed through the use of the Internet.
– To follow the internationally accepted developments in the specified issues, to make studies abroad on these issues when necessary and to provide opinions and suggestions on these developments.
– To make activities and projects informing the public about the lawful use of the Internet.
– The Commission may request information and documents from public institutions and organizations regarding their duties, from content providers, access providers, location providers and other local or foreign natural and legal persons operating under this law.
– Will be able to benefit from the work of public institutions and organizations, universities, non-governmental organizations and public institutions, which are related to the field of duty, and invite experts to get their opinions when necessary.
