Snapdragon 865 And Snapdragon 765 / 765G
Qualcomm announced new processors, Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765 / 765G, at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019 event.
Known thing
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 has a built-in modem that supports Snapdragon X55 autonomous and non-autonomous network architecture (SA / NSA) for 4G and 5G networks, as well as works on mmWave and sub-6GHz networks. Snapdragon 765 and 765G are equipped with an integrated 5G modem but have not yet been reported. Unfortunately, no other processor information is available. Qualcomm has promised to talk about chipsets in the future.
When to wait
The Snapdragon 865-based Android smartphone Snapdragon 765 / 765G will be available in early 2020. Companies such as HMD Global, LG, Motorola, OPPO, Realme, Redmi and Vivo have already confirmed that they will use it on their devices.
Update: The Snapdragon X55 Modem is not built into the Snapdragon 865 processor and comes separately.
So Snapdragon 865 is not an integrated 5G modem. In fact, there will be no modem at all. It’s very strange because I think QC has a version with an integrated modem internally including 5G, as you can see in the development process over the last few months.
