The entire published collection contains about 2.8 million photographs, exhibits and 3D models that the institute assembled from his structures. It includes 19 museums, 9 research centers, libraries, archives, and even the National Zoo.
Although the galleries are closed due to large-scale restoration, all physical spaceships, spacesuits and flying objects in space, which were transferred to the museum, remain under the care of their curators and conservatives. However, they can now be seen online.

Previously more than 4.7 million Smithsonian imagesInstitutions were available only for personal purposes or non-commercial use. Now, thanks to open access, almost 3 million of these images are labeled Creative Commons Zero – they can be used for any purpose without the permission of the institute.
