The second round of presidential elections will be held in Poland

Residents of Poland did not cast 50% of the vote for one of the presidential candidates – this is exactly what is needed to win the election. The second round of voting will take place on July 12, TASS reports .

According to exit polls, the current president of Poland, Andrzej Duda, entered the second round. According to preliminary data, he scored 41.8% of the vote. Together with him in the second round was a candidate from the opposition party of Poland “Civil Platform” and the mayor of Warsaw Rafal Tshaskovsky. 30.4% of the votes were cast for him.

Duda noted that he had a great advantage and emphasized that the announced voting results were preliminary. “Regardless of which competitor you voted for, thank you for going to the polls, because
it is important to actively participate in Polish affairs,” he stressed.

The turnout of residents for the elections was a record: 62.9% of the citizens who voted came to vote. In the 2010 presidential election in Poland, this figure was 54.94%, in 2015 – 48.96%.

In total , 11 candidates participated in the elections . Enhanced sanitary measures were applied at the polling stations: a safe distance was established between members of election commissions, all were provided with protective masks and gloves.
