Artificial intelligence assisted Cortana aims to provide users with a better Windows experience. However, with the latest update, Cortana’s functionality is decreasing.
Efficiency decreases with Microsoft Cortana update
With the Microsoft Cortana update, some features will become history. Personal assistant Cortana will now appear as a productivity assistant. Andrew Shuman, Cortana’s corporate vice president, said the new Cortana experience will include a chat-based user interface that will help users better manage their programs and tasks.
Cortana’s lost features appear in this section. Shuman stated that third-party applications cannot be used with Cortana. So, by ordering on Cortana, Spotify songs will no longer be changed. Also, the connected home system is disappearing. Thus, lights or sound systems connected to Cortana will not be managed.
Towards the end of April, the Cortana service in Microsoft Launcher will also be shut down. Also, older version Windows 10 owners will not be able to use Cortana. Access to Cortana is also tightened with the update. To use the digital assistant, you must now securely log in with your work, school or Microsoft account.
