Phantom Canyon and Black Panther Canyon NUC to land in 2020
According to FanlessTech, the NUC 11 series based on Intel’s 11th generation Tiger Lake CPU will land in the second half of 2020. The new NUC, including the recently reported Phantom Canyon and Panther Canyon designs, is expected to use Intel’s latest 10nm + -based Tiger XU processor and advanced Xe graphics architecture.

According to the details mentioned by FanlessTech, NUC 11 Extreme and NUC 11 performance will replace the existing NUC 8 and NUC 9 series. This is the first time that a slide officially lists Intel’s Tiger Lake family as the 11th generation family. Sources said that the roadmap listed the availability of the NUC 11 series, around mid-2020, but due to the continued existence of the coronavirus, the roadmap will be moved to the second half of 2020.
Intel Phantom Canyon NUC 11 Extreme
The Phantom Canyon NUC 11 Extreme Edition will be powered by Intel’s Tiger Lake-U 28W processor. The processors on the NUC may be Core i7 or Core i5 variants, but although they will integrate an integrated Xe GPU, they will also provide independent graphics options. The specifics of the GPU are unclear, but it is said to be a third party with 6 or 8 GB of graphics memory.
Intel is likely to place its own discrete graphics based on the Xe graphics architecture, which will provide better performance than integrated GPUs. You can configure NUC 11 Extreme with up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 SODIMM. There are two M.2 slots (1x 22×80 / 110 and 1x 22×80) and PCIe x4 Gen 3 NVMe ports.
Other details include a futuristic design with the iconic “SKULL” logo, which is illuminated by LEDs. You can put NUCs in a desktop or tower structure, and they all look cool. It shared designs with its predecessors, Skull Canyon and Hades Canyon, both of which rocked the 45W CPU. NUC 11 Extreme I / O will include HDMI 2.0b, Mini DisplayPort, front and rear Thunderbolt 3 ports, Intel 2.5 Gbps LAN, Intel Wireless-AX 201, IEEE 802.11ax, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
