Lenovo Yoga S940-Fashion Ultra Portable Compact laptop with metal case. How does the Lenovo Yoga S940 look and be assembled?

The Lenovo Yoga S940 adds value to the engineer because it uses a high quality aluminum alloy with a matte finish, which is really expensive and robust. The laptop turned out to be light at about 1.2 kg. The whole body is gray and the cover only has the logo of the yoga line.

The case is very thin: 12. This is not a record, but 2 mm. The shape of the laptop is wedge shaped and it is interesting to use in the design. Like most modern ultra-portable image laptops, the Lenovo Yoga S940 does not have a full size connector. In this case there are only four. An IR camera tracks eye movements and can do some useful work. For example, if you wake up at work, the laptop locks automatically. Or look at the desired panel and move the program window between linked screens. The latter could not be confirmed: there was no monitor with Thunderbolt.

The Lenovo Yoga S940 is as expensive and rich as the engineer intended. Of course, if assembled, everything is normal.

How convenient is it to use a laptop?

The hinges of the Lenovo Yoga S940 are very good. Of course, you can open the laptop with one hand, and the display does not get staggered and is well fixed in the required position. There is also something reminiscent of the autostart feeling when the laptop is closed. You can open about 145 °. Keyboards are common on Lenovo laptops by recognizable curvature and layout at the bottom of the button. Since the thickness of the notebook is thin, the keys move; also small: about 1 mm. The pressure is generally beneficial, but the first days still begin to get used to short strokes. There are white backlights with two brightness levels. It is uniform and all characters are well visible.

The touchpad of the Lenovo Yoga S940 laptop is not a record, but the average size is offset by its excellent sensitivity and coverage. Did not occur while using the need or the need for a mouse connection.

How good is the screen?

Our configuration uses processors from the Whiskey Lake family with integrated Intel Core i5-8265U graphics. The processor is a 14nm quad-core processor with 8 threaded HyperThreading, 6 MB SmartCache. Clock frequency is 1.6GHz (Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz). The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 chip with frequencies up to 1100 MHz is responsible for graphics. There is no revelation of performance and is sufficient for “office” applications. Working with documents, mail, instant messengers and browsers is comfortable. Basic image editing in Photoshop is not a problem either. Benchmark results are appropriate.

The drive works very fast. The read speed is over 3550MB / s and the write speed is about 1900MB / s.

We were very happy with the laptop cooling system. Efficiency and quiet operation. AIDA64 stress tests have shown that at full load, the system temperature initially rises to 64 ° and remains at 60 ° after applying the cooling system. Of course, there is no story about throttling. The case warms up slightly above the keyboard. At the same time, the SO remains quiet and hardly audible.

The Ultrabook has a 52Wh battery. Promises up to 15 hours of operation (this indicator is 10 hours for 4K models) and fast charging is supported on 65W full power supply. In the normal mode of operation, which maintains a normal Wi-Fi connection and plays music with Chrome, Photoshop, and headphones with many tabs, the laptop will work for about seven hours. Not bad, but there are competitors who can withstand the whole working day.

Dolby Atmos-enabled notebook audio systems are quite convincing given the size of the laptop. The speaker does not “thousand” even at maximum volume and can track something similar to low frequencies. For movies and videos is enough. To configure that application
