Kick-off in 2022: Kalypso announces new part of the football manager
Kalypso Media has announced a new part of the once popular football manager series with impetus 2022. The goal is to revive the legendary gameplay, but at the same time to adapt it to the requirements of modern football. Publication is planned for 2021.
With impetus 2022, Kalypso Media announced a continuation of the once popular football manager. As the publisher reveals in a press release, they really want to revive the legendary gameplay from back then. At the same time, however, it is also planned to meet the requirements of modern football. Fans should be able to adjust to complexity and depth without much micromanagement.
The developers have not yet revealed any details about the gameplay. There is also little information on the official website . Simon Hellwig, founder and managing partner of Kalypso Media Group GmbH, is convinced that with the 2022 kick-off, he will also be able to score in other football-enthusiastic markets with the typical one-afternoon-one-season gameplay loop. “Even if ‘impetus’ is often seen as a German topic.”
The series has been dead for 14 years
Stefan Weyl, Managing Director bei der 2tainment GmbH, sagt: “Ein modernes Anstoss, das dem heutigen Fußball Rechnung trägt, aber gleichzeitig ein echtes ‘Anstoß’ bleibt – das ist unser Ziel.” In Anstoss 2022 gehe es darum, gleichermaßen Spieltiefe sowie Realismus zu bieten, und sich dabei auf die wirklich wesentlichen Aufgaben eines Managers zu konzentrieren. “Wir wollen das alte Gefühl von ‘Deine Mannschaft – Dein Verein und Dein Erfolg’ wieder zurück auf die Bildschirme bringen.”

Kalypso hatte die Anstoss-Rechte von der Ascaron Entertainment GmbH nach deren Insolvenz übernommen. Die Reihe erfreute sich hierzulande vor allem um die Jahrtausendwende großer Beleibtheit. Anstoss erschien 1993 noch für Amiga-Systeme, später auch für MS-DOS. Als erfolgreichster Ableger gilt Anstoss 3 aus dem Jahr 2000. Spätere Auflagen konnten nicht mehr an den Erfolg der Vorgänger anknüpfen. Mit Anstoss 2007 erschien im Jahr 2006 der bisher letzte Teil der Reihe. EA führte den Fußball Manager bis zum Jahre 2013, danach war auch hier Schluss. Seit dem Football Manager 2019 nutzt Sega die Lizenzen der 1. und 2. Bundesliga.
