John Wick 4 premiere postponed for full year due to Matrix 4 and coronavirus

A new movie in the John Wick universe will now have to wait. The film company Lionsgate announced that the premiere of the fourth film is postponed for a year.

Again, the killer will appear on the screens only on May 27, 2022. Initially, “John Wick 4” was due out on May 21, 2021.

Keanu Reeves is expected to return to his role, as will director Chad Stahelski, who directed all three previous films. The transfer was not unexpected, since tape production had not yet begun due to the coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, Reeves himself was busy filming Matrix 4.

Stahelsky recently reported that the production of Matrix 4 was interrupted after a month of filming. After the coronavirus pandemic ends, Reeves will first have to finish the scene in the image of Neo, and only then proceed with the preparation of John Wick’s tricks.

The director also noted that Reeves would like to expand the universe of “John Wick”, but planned to withdraw so far only in the fourth part. Stahelsky hinted that part of the new tape will go under water.
