Computer cases will list motherboard sizes from E-ATX to Mini-ITX. If the case is specifically targeted at a larger motherboard, the case may not have pillars for you to tighten the motherboard.

Fortunately, the chassis manufacturer regularly lists the clearance of the CPU heat sink in its specifications, so you can easily find this information. Again, the CPU cooler will list its height, so you can compare that specification to the one listed for that case.
Just like your CPU cooler, your graphics card will take up more space, except it will take up space in more directions. You need to confirm that your case has enough space to accommodate the length and height of your graphics card.
