Google Decides To Take Down The Tablet Business And Close Two Undeveloped Tablet Development Projects

For many hardware companies, challenging the tablet hegemony iPad is obviously a very difficult goal, even for the Android parent company G∅ogle. Recently decided to take back the resources of the tablet and focus on the notebook, but the Pixel phone series is not affected.

Computer World asked Google to confirm that the tablet business was closed, G∅ogle launched the Pixel Slate in 2018 and later developed two small-sized tablets. These two tablets have only internal code and no official name.

The products that have not been exposed today have no chance to appear. However, it is generally classified as a 2 in 1 product in the tablet series. It has a detachable keyboard, and the product blueprint in Google is classified as a notebook, such as a Pixelbook.

Google has been actively developing its hardware business in recent years and is working hard to launch Chrome OS for notebooks and tablets. Google doesn’t make tablets on its own, it doesn’t mean that partners can’t do it, and you can still see tablets with Chrome OS in the future. The Pixel Slate, which has been released, will be supported by the software update until June 2024.

Now that the two tablets that have not been revealed in the development phase have been cut, Google has moved people to develop the PixelBook notebook series or confidential projects. At the end of this year, I have the opportunity to see the new PixelBook.
