8nm process Samsung chip Exynos 880 debut with vivo Y70s

According to foreign media SAMMOBILE, Samsung ’s new processor Exynos 880 debuted with the vivo Y70s that was launched yesterday . This processor is a reduced version of Exynos 980 launched last year, which is tailored for mid-range smartphones . Customized, with integrated 5G connection and faster performance.

Exynos 880 SoC is made using Samsung’s energy-saving 8nm FinFET process. It has an eight-core 64-bit CPU with two ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2GHz and six ARM Cortex- A55 cores at 1.8GHz . The chipset is compatible with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 (or eMMC 5.1) storage .

Samsung’s new processor uses an ARM Mali-G76 MP5 GPU and is expected to have faster gaming performance. The company claims that the new chipset supports advanced gaming APIs and technologies to reduce loading time and provide high frame rates, and the GPU also supports Full HD + (2520 × 1080 pixels) display.

In terms of imaging, Exynos 880 ISP supports up to 64-megapixel camera sensor or 20-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual-camera settings. It can support up to 4K 30fps video recording, and supports H.265, H.264 and VP9 codecs 4K video decoding and encoding. The processor has an integrated NPU and DSP for AI processing on the device. They all share a controller and DMA (direct memory access) for faster and more efficient performance.
