Scottish police posted online video showing a special extraction devicedata from locked smartphones. The device is supposedly universal.

A device called “Cyberkiosk” is, byEssentially, a desktop computer with special software. To extract data, just connect a smartphone to the device via, apparently, a USB cable. After that, a panel appears on the computer screen on which you can choose what type of data from the device the police officer needs. This includes contacts, SMS, and media files.

The police claim that they gain access not to all the data, but only to those that are needed for the investigation. In addition, data extraction is possible only by court order.

It is reported that this development belongs to the Israeli company Cellebrite. Its experts say that any smartphones, including iPhone, can be hacked.
